Earlier this month, the highly successful 2014 Sellstate Leadership Summit came to a conclusion with attendees blown away by the quality and quantity of material provided. The event returned for it’s second year to the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, from October 15th to the 16th. With a guest list comprising of Sellstate’s top leaders including managers, brokers, and owners, alongside corporate leadership and prominent event sponsors, the enthusiasm at the event was indescribable. The agenda for the two day event focused on optimizing marketing and prospecting, recruiting highly productive agents, and enhancing the overall Sellstate Experience.
The first day opened with brief speech from Neil Cresswell, Sellstate President, followed by a marketing keynote by Michael Darmanin, Chief Operating Officer, and Chris Palko, Marketing Coordinator. The nearly 2-hour session highlighted Sellstate’s accomplishments over the past year and provided attendees with a wealth of new marketing material. The end of the session was focused on providing our offices with step-by-step instruction on how to optimize their local marketing efforts.

Following the well-received marketing session, Ron Ario, Regional Manager, California, presented Sellstate’s new Pioneer Model – a innovative growth strategy that can now be implemented by our offices.
A powerful session on recruiting mega-agents was given by Sellstate Next Generation Realty (Ocala, FL) Manager, Greg Kelly. Greg shared strategy after strategy that breaks down exactly how he targets and ultimately recruits the absolute top producing agents in his market. Greg has recruited several agents who each close over 100 transactions per year.
Bill Steinke, Manager at Sellstate Achievers, then demonstrated the power and simplicity of Power Suite’s customizable websites. With just a few clicks, guests were shown how to optimize their websites to capture more consumer leads.
Then, in a surprise recruiting-oriented session, Michael Darmanin, COO, and Art Darmanin, CEO, unveiled Sellstate’s latest recruiting presentation geared towards streamlining agent interviews in a manner that highlights all of Sellstate’s strengths in a short period of time. Attendees were ecstatic at how this tool will help them recruit more agents to their office.
To conclude the first day, our Strategic Alliance partner and event sponsor, Homes.com, hosted a group dinner at the resort’s premier steakhouse, BRAND. Attendees enjoyed a superb dining experience while networking with fellow Sellstate leaders in a relaxed environment.

Day 2 started off strong once again with our event sponsors sharing how their offerings can help our offices grow. Homes.com provided an excellent presentation on how to optimize their HomesConnect platform for search engines. They also revealed some exciting new features that are coming soon for our agents and offices.
Zillow then shared how our strategic alliance with the world’s largest homes search site has grown to provide an even greater consumer reach to our members. They provided some insight on their acquisition of Trulia and thoroughly answered many questions from our company’s leaders.
American Dream Real Estate School concluded the presentations from our sponsors by informing our offices of an innovative new education model that adds value to our system and provides a revenue stream for our offices. This technology-driven system enables our offices to offer various curriculums for agents of any experience level.
Following our technology-focused morning sessions, our attendees were then given some time to discuss among their groups ideas on how to utilize technology that’s available to them to improve and grow their offices. The morning sessions certainly sparked their creativity as new ideas were generated and shared amongst the groups.
After lunch, Michael Darmanin, COO, emphasized the importance of understanding different personalities and how that applies to hiring the perfect staff. Elaborating on DiSC testing, Michael shows how to hire and work with office staff in an optimal manner.
Neil Cresswell, President, then lead a powerful session on auxiliary services and creating additional revenue streams for our offices. Our company’s leaders were ecstatic about opportunities to provide their agents with more value.

The final session of the event was a very important one – goal setting for 2015. Our office leaders took the initiative to think about what they wanted to accomplish in the upcoming year and put it in writing. This session was a more personal one that gave our members time to reflect on what we’ve shared with them over the past two days and how it will impact their business going forward.
Art Darmanin, CEO, gave his closing speech that highlighted the company’s successes and plans for the future. His enthusiasm for the future of the company was infectious as attendees displayed their excitement for what Sellstate has in store.

The 2013 Leadership Summit was a great success, and we are happy to know that the 2014 Leadership Summit was an even greater success with more attendees and more content.
