The 2013 Sellstate Leadership Summit concluded last week to overwhelmingly positive reviews. The event was hosted at the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 23rd and 24th. The attendee list consisted of Sellstate’s top leaders, including owners, brokers, and managers. The two day event was packed with information with a specific focus on building a better office through strengthening culture, providing more and better tools, enhancing education and ultimately creating an unmatched experience.

The event opened with a keynote address from Sellstate President Neil Cresswell, Sellstate Chief Operating Officer Michael Darmanin and Sellstate Marketing Coordinator Chris Palko. The two hour introduction shared news about the tremendous growth the company has experienced this year, highlighted the unparalleled technical achievements, provided a deeper look into the strategy behind marketing and technical implementations, and presented a preview of things to come.
The attendees were treated to the news that Sellstate’s ongoing strategy to optimize online content through deep analytic mining, database merging and search engine optimization (SEO) has been surpassing expectations. Since implementing Sellstate’s unified database approach, Sellstate has increased traffic time on site 1,700%. At the same time, our latest advancements in video analytic mining have helped Sellstate improve watch time by a staggering 531% while reducing the video length by almost 90%.
The targeted afternoon sessions focused on education within the office and social media optimization. The sessions were lead by Sellstate Priority Manager Lynda Moritz (winner of the 2013 Sellstate Leadership Summit Spirit Award) and Marguerite Crespillo (winner of the 2013 Sellstate Leadership Summit Leadership Award) respectively.
The first day concluded with a special dinner hosted by Homes.com, Sellstate’s premier Power Suite partner.
Day 2 opened with back to back presentations and announcements from two of Sellstate’s strategic partners, Homes.com and Zillow, and focused on the expansion of Sellstate’s Power Suite further extending it’s lead over the competition as the most effective digital toolset for real estate professionals.
The attendees watched in amazement as Sellstate introduced an entirely new Marketing Center, which will be available to all Sellstate members, as well as a new OnIine Reputation Manager tool that notifies when the office is mentioned, allows quick comments and updates to online messages as well as online directories and even provides the ability to quickly compare and contrast online footprints to gain an advantage over competitors. Power Suite enhancements continued as it was announced that Sellstate’s Consumer Reach will surpass 78,500,000 users per month!
The first of the afternoon sessions on day 2 was dedicated to round table discussions of how the entire Sellstate value proposition can be enhanced in each location as well as how the new tools and ideas shared and analysed over the Summit could be implemented.
The final session of the day was a very special treat as Sellstate co-founders, Chief Executive Officer Arthur Darmanin and Sellstate President Neil Cresswell hosted an on-the-spot, unrehearsed role play to demonstrate objection handling and interview closing techniques.
The presentation of the Sellstate Leadership Award to Sellstate Realty First for excellence in the areas of leadership, education, recruiting and culture and the Sellstate Spirit Award to Sellstate Priority for community involvement and charitable contribution followed the role play.
The Leadership Summit day concluded with an address from Sellstate Chief Executive Officer Arthur Darmanin where the entirety of the two days was summarized with a very passionate speech that energized and excited the room followed by a cocktail happy hour sponsored by Zillow.
