How & Where to Promote Your Career Opportunities

It is important to let as many people as possible know about the career opportunities within your office. Listed below are some free ideas as to where you can promote your office’s hiring ads. Be sure to use a combination of print, social media, internet, and sphere of influence marketing for the best exposure. When hiring for any new position, you will have to stay on top of the promotion for at least 2 weeks to ensure all qualified candidates in your area are aware of the opportunity within your office.

Social Media
At the very minimum, make the opportunity known on Facebook. You can also use other social media sites like LinkedIn and Google Plus in addition to Facebook. Be sure to post the opportunity on a regular basis until the position has been filled.

Craigslist
In many markets, Craigslist allows posting within the “Jobs” category at no cost (it’s $25/ad in major markets). If you’re in a market that allows free posting of job ads on Craigslist, be sure to post your opportunity every couple of days. We still suggest posting on Craigslist if you are in a paid market; however, 1 or 2 ads over the course of your hiring window should be sufficient.

Real Estate Board
Your real estate board should have somewhere where your office can promote your opportunity. If they have a publication that you can advertise in, you may want to considering running an ad.

Email Blasts
Using the same mass email system that you use to prospect for new Real Estate Advisors, you can blast emails out promoting the opening within your office. Scheduling a campaign every couple of days will give your opportunity tons of exposure. Be sure to email your own Real Estate Advisors informing them of open positions. They are always networking with others and may know someone who would be a perfect fit.
